Discipling New Believers - India

Wednesday 22 Mar

R shares about a recent encouraging encounter.

R, our Asian Mission Mobiliser, writes, "On a recent trip to Assma, my brother in Christ from South Asia and I were excited to meet with two new believers from the neighbouring community. We had almost given up on the thought of meeting with them as they were so busily engaged in their works, but the meeting was made possible at the eleventh hour.

The new believers came from two very different backgrounds - one a college lecturer, the other an assistant carpenter. We met with them in a tea stall as it was not easy to find a safe and neutral environment. We listened to their stories, encouraged them from the word and prayed for them and their families.

One of the believers remarked from the Word that where two or three are gathered in His name, there He is with them, and that is where His church begins.

We were accompanied at the meeting by the president of the Rabha Baptist Convention who witnessed what was being done and what was possible in discipling and planting a church... beginning with just these two believers.

We encouraged the leaders to consider starting a monthly or weekly Bible study, with a clear and prayerful anticipation of two becoming four, and growing even more. As the seed is planted in the hearts and minds of people, we pray for a plentiful harvest. We came away from the meeting encouraged and praising God." « Back to News
