The first Baptist Mission Australia intercultural workers began serving among the Kyaka Enga people 70 years ago. The celebration of this anniversary last year was hightened by the dedication of the revised translation of the Kyaka Enga Bible.
This translation is the culmination of years of meticulous work, the generous support of Australians and God’s hand in making it all possible.
The legacy of the early intercultural workers lives on and today there are over 80,000 Baptist believers across the nation. One current challenge for the Baptist Union of PNG is the lack of an ordination policy and Baptist Mission Australia and Australian Baptist Ministries are partnering together to support BUPNG in the development of this.
